Stomach Flu

Came back with the stomach flu. Barely able to get out of bed. Just starting to feel better so I will be back at working on this project tomorow. Going to head back to bed now.

R & R

Off at my son's house for the weekend. Its nice to have a break but I have not had much computer time till today and really should hit the shower and get dressed in a minute. Life should resume normal by Wednesday when I get back on the trail to my new adventure on the Internet.

Linked In

Yesterday was consumed by errands starting with a clinic in a nearby town. I ran so hard I ended up with a blister on my toe. Oh well I guess its flip flops for the weekend. I do need a change of scenery but before I go there are always so many things to do.

Today I am going to a Meetup for Linked In and then its off for the long weekend. Linked in is a Professional Networking Website that allows you to network not only with who you know but with who they know as well. I'm always willing to get some new ideas on how to better promote myself. I guess learning self promotion is a big part of reinventing myself again.

Speaking of self promotion I have to get a cover letter done before I can go. The City has a job opening that could be perfect. I could involve myself in the workings of local government (at a very low level) and get back to work at the same time. I could be close enough to walk which would be a good thing for me health wise.

Maybe some of my networking will pay off. (I was told about the job by one of the local grocery checkers.) I actually have been having a lot of job conversations lately with people I might not have confided in at another time. I guess I am getting over the whole shock of it all.

Jumping Through Hoops

Wow it's amazing how fast time flies when you are jumping through hoops for the government. First it was the job fair, then its networking per their suggestion, then its required meetings in another city nearby, then it's charity work for my resume per their suggestion, after that it's testing for school. Oh yeah, they decided I should go back to school so I needed to take aptitude testing.

I did better than I expected. Can you believe I have been a bookkeeper/accountant type most of my adult life and my lowest scores were in MATH? I never did get the hang of algebra in school. Apparently I'm doing better now than when I was last in school since I don't need remedial algebra anymore.

Next disappointment was, that I currently don't qualify for the new Badger Care Program till MARCH of next year even though they told me I would qualify for July. (You have to have been without insurance for 12 months.) So here I am after trying to get the whole drug/blood work issue figured out.

I have an appointment tomorrow to go to a clinic. I think I have 3 days of medication left unless I skip back to the lower dosage for a few days to stretch it out. Maybe I will do that tonight and take the higher dose in the morning, go to the appointment, and see what they have to say. Then I can decide which dose to take tomorrow night.

I'm also investigating free drug programs, but because I've been taking generic for so long I am dealing with obscure companies. I just can't believe how long all this takes! I have gotten some reductions from my local pharmacy. I'm also getting one at Walmart since my pharmacy can't get down to the Walmart price for that drug (since its below their cost).

Its very frustrating!
