Getting Your Ducks in a Row

One of the things that is hardest to do when unemployed is getting organized. You have to stop and think about what steps are most important.
  • Revise resume(s)
  • Check supplies of resume paper/envelopes
  • Update listings on:
    • Linked In
    • Naymz
    • Career Builder
    • Monster
  • Check your interview clothes and shoes
  • Find your briefcase or portfolio
  • Make sure shoes are polished
  • Make any repairs needed
  • Apply for training or school (if appropriate)
  • Check to see if the city, county or state have resources
  • Contact agencies you have worked with in the past
  • Apply for temporary work
  • Consider consulting work
  • Read books on the job scene and working
  • Get a fresh haircut
  • Keep other grooming up to date
  • Surround yourself with positive thinking
Then you are finally ready to look for work. Spend time on it every day.
